So some of you know that I have been living at the Haras du Coussoul for the past 2 months, I came here in 2016 through Alizee Froment, to do my internship. I worked hard and had the time of my life. I learned incredibly much about Lustino horses, horses in general, riding and breeding. But I also grew a lot in photography, personally and I created a second home. I have been coming back ever since.
Last year I was introduced to foaling, and it directly got pretty harsh but luckily with a pretty ending. If you are curious about that foaling, read my blog about the foaling and my blog about how it ended, so this year I started it confidently with some more experience. I was looking at the camera several times a night.
On the 8th of March, I watched the camera at 11pm just before going to bed and I noticed a big black spot behind the mare. In my pyjama's while calling Catherine I jumped out of my house to welcome the first baby of the year. It was a nicely sized dark foal, he was still partly in so I helped him get out, and I watched him and his momma meet for the first time, unconditional love at first sight.
Then on the 13th of March a beautiful German/Lusitano girl was born, and on the 20th of March we were so blessed to welcome another beautiful foal. This time a beautiful, tall and very smart Lusitano foal.
I believe that this, speaking for myself, is one of the most beautiful jobs that exist in this world. It is so pure, it contains so much love, to be able to welcome a little one into this world... I do not have the worlds to explain the feeling, it is something that you should feel within your heart ❤.
